In short

Products and engineering

What information is needed to quote a switchboard?

Share the application, project location, single-line diagram or load schedule if available, voltage, current, fault level, installation conditions and target programme. Elins can identify missing inputs during the enquiry review.

What is the difference between PCC, MCC and IMCC?

A power control centre distributes and controls power to downstream loads; a motor control centre groups motor feeders and their control equipment. An intelligent MCC adds monitoring or communication functions as specified; the final architecture depends on the project design.

How is the required IP rating selected?

Select the enclosure ingress-protection rating from the installation environment, exposure, operating conditions and project specification. Confirm the rating for the complete assembly and its installed configuration.

Can existing systems be extended or modernised?

Elins can assess retrofit or extension requirements after reviewing the installed equipment, drawings, available space, condition and outage constraints. Feasibility and the final scope require a site-specific engineering review.

How are automation and communication requirements defined?

Start with the control philosophy, signals, protocols, supervisory system, cybersecurity requirements and responsibility for each interface. The agreed design should document what is monitored, controlled and handed over.

Testing and compliance

Which IEC standards apply to LV and MV assemblies?

IEC 61439 is relevant to LV assemblies and IEC 62271-200 to applicable metal-enclosed MV switchgear. The exact edition, clauses, verification evidence and product scope must be confirmed against the specification and supplied configuration.

What certification documents are available?

Request the current certificate or test document for the exact product, configuration and project scope. A certificate should be presented with its issuer, standard, date and applicability, rather than as a general company-wide claim.

Can customers witness factory tests?

Witness testing can be planned when it is included in the agreed inspection and test plan. Confirm the tests, acceptance criteria, notice period and documentation before the factory acceptance test.

What routine tests are completed before dispatch?

Routine verification follows the applicable product standard and approved inspection and test plan. Ask for the test schedule and records for the specific assembly; design-verification evidence serves a different purpose.

Delivery and support

Which locations does Elins serve?

Share the project or service location through the relevant enquiry route. Elins should confirm delivery, commissioning and service availability for that location and scope.

What commissioning support is available?

Commissioning support is defined by the product, contract and site readiness. Request the agreed activities, responsibilities, prerequisites and handover documents in the project scope.

How are service calls raised?

Use the Service Support form with the site, equipment identification, symptoms, operational impact and urgency. Follow the site emergency procedure for immediate danger and do not work on energised equipment without authorisation and approved safety controls.

Are AMC and preventive-maintenance plans available?

The support portfolio includes preventive maintenance and AMC services. Coverage, frequency, exclusions and response arrangements should be confirmed for the installed equipment and location.

How can manuals and drawings be accessed?

Ask the project or service contact for the controlled document set tied to the equipment or project reference. Access to customer manuals and drawings may require an approved login or other controlled route.
